General Meeting Notice
The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library will host a General Meeting
Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 10 am
East Bank Regional Library - 4747 W. Napoleon Avenue - Metairie
Guest speaker will be Mel Buchanan, Curator of Decorative Arts and Design at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
The current exhibition “Sand, Ash, Heat: Glass at the New Orleans Museum of Art” will be the topic. This exhibition presents the first ever comprehensive look at the museum’s extensive collection of glass objects, ranging from tiny ancient Egyptian amulets to large-scale works of contemporary sculpture.
Three copies of the exhibition catalog, as well as a docent-led tour for six people, will be awarded as door prizes.
Winners must be present when tickets are pulled at the end of the meeting.
